“Negotiate your own writing goals and audience expectations regarding conventions of genre, medium, and rhetorical situation”
This course learning outcome breaks down to understanding and realizing the rhetorical elements that are discussed in class. These elements are audience, purpose, genre, exigence, stance, and media. These are all things that are discussed and implemented within each and every assignment. Identifying each one is the foundation for writing anything. To be able to proceed with rhetorical situations, we must first perform genre analysis upon past students’ works to take a full grasp on how to use it most effectively. We would also be able to identify methods or techniques that we may not have considered and use it to elevate our own work.
