Stance is best known as one’s attitude towards a topic or idea. It is the side of the argument in which they choose to support with their writing. I best understood my stance as my opinion on the subject that I’m writing about. Stance is a rhetorical element that can be likened to exigence due to their nature and roles within the writing. 

An example of stance being used would be our engineering proposal in which I outlined my concern for the people of California suffering from wildfires and heat waves. Which then would cause the citizens to experience server power outages and blackouts.
