Citing sources is a constant skill that is used when creating any document that is informational. This is because when finding this information you must properly reference the original sources and authors of these works. Though there are various ways to go about this depending on the format of the document or how you reference the source. For example in APA format you would directly inject the author or source of the information after it has been used. If a large portion of the writing is referencing the same source then the citing would be towards the end. There is also whether you are paraphrasing or quoting the original author. Which are both done in their own and unique ways. We used these skills in assignments such as the technical description which we researched and cited sources for a certain product that relates to our fields of study.
